Using Red Ink
Access Red Ink via a tile in the menu ribbon. It offers predefined functions like translating, shortening, correcting texts, or summarising email chains. The Freestyle feature allows you to apply custom prompts to selected text. You have a prompt library and numerous configuration options. You can have the AI comment on markups in a contract, merge two texts, access a clause library or – with the right model – do Internet research. Revise your text using Word bubbles.
No back-and-forth switching between Word and the browser
All actions are available directly within Word, Excel, and Outlook, eliminating the need to copy and paste between windows (as with so many other solutions).
A chatbot that does not forget
Additionally, a chatbot can continuously “see” the content of your Word documents or Excel worksheets if permitted (again unlike other solutions that ‘forget’ your documents over time), and another local chatbot is available in your browser.
Most popular functions
In our experience, the most popular functions are text translation, correction, and improvement; the possibility to discuss materials of a case with AI; AI-powered deep research; external service integration; the PDF browser extension; the ‘bubbles’ function; and the chatbot integrated directly into Word. In Excel, users often use Red Ink to complete forms.
