In addition to large language models, Red Ink can also use content services to access specialized content, such as court decisions for lawyers. You can also enable user access to your internal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.

Use “Special Services” to access third party content services from within Word

Within Red Ink, you access these services through the “Special Service” feature. In Word, this feature runs a search query based on your selected text, an entered search term, and other configurable parameters. The results appear in a pane on the right side of the document and can be merged or copied into the current or another document.

The example on the right shows the legal service Lexi Search, which provides access to Swiss court decisions using semantic search.

Any service that uses a JSON REST API can in principle be integrated

You can configure Red Ink to in principle work with any service that offers access via a JSON REST API. For more information, consult the Red Ink manual or use “Help me, Inky”. We provide configuration examples for the following services (see “specialservices.ini” here)
